WarmDreams replaced a glass block arch window with a PVC privacy-glass picture window and installed a black ProVia entry door in Algonquin, IL.
This single-family home in Algonquin, IL was built in 2000 and has white siding. It needed two very different openings replaced: an arched glass block window in the bathroom and the main entry door.
The bathroom now has a white PVC picture replacement window with privacy glass. It lets daylight in while keeping the room screened from outside view. On the interior, we finished the opening with a specialty PVC trim that resists moisture, which suits a room where steam and humidity are part of daily use.
At the front entrance, WarmDreams installed a ProVia entry door with two sidelights and a storm door. The exterior is finished in black, which gives the entry a crisp, high-contrast look against the white facade, and the interior side is finished in white. The two jobs show the range of a full-service window and door contractor in Algonquin: one custom-fitted bathroom retrofit and one new front entrance.
The Challenge
The original bathroom window was an arched glass block unit, and its curved opening couldn’t accept the rectangular PVC picture window selected for the space. Installing the new window meant changing the shape of the wall opening itself, not just swapping units.
The Solution
Our installers cut the wall opening into a precise rectangle sized for the new picture window, then set the unit in the reshaped wall. The result is a clean, square-cornered frame where the curve of glass block once stood.
